“Loakal”, a pop up gallery/retail spot in the heart of Downtown Oakland.

July 3rd, 2012

fiftyseven-thirtythree is teaming up with with Spoke Art and East Bay Express to activate 1423 Broadway, with “Loakal”, a pop up gallery/retail spot in the heart of Downtown Oakland.  Our grand opening takes place on August 3rd , just in time for Art Murmur and the 12th annual Art and Soul celebration August 4th and 5th.   The space is exciting and new for us and will incorporate an art gallery with a retail outlet.

We are seeking artists/designers to be apart of the “Loakal” pop up store for the month of August.  We’re interested in stocking 25-30 brands with a DIY sensibility who fit our aesthetic.  We will sell on consignment at a 60/40, owner (you)/seller (us) split. Submissions will be accepted till July 20th.  We will be going through a selection process and will let you know as soon as you are accepted so we can arrange drop off and/or shipment to our studio to be tagged and merchandised. Additionally, there is potential for long term lease in the space and will keep you posted on how that unfolds.

Please feel free to email me a website or 3 photos of your work for consideration to:

Thank you!
