Glen Park has felt like a neighborhood for a very long time. In fact, the first Glen Park all-neighborhood gathering took place 90 years ago, in 1911!
But the modern-day Festival came to life in 1997, created by a group of neighbors who had been talking about the neighborhoodâs many artists and craftspeople. âWouldnât it be great for them to come together to exhibit their work in Glen Park?â the conversation went. âHow about a street fair?â Thus, the Glen Park Festival began.
Since then, the Festival has evolved from a folksy, spontaneous neighborhood get- together to a well-planned annual event that combines fun and community support. The Festival brings residents, neighbors and friends together for a day of entertainment, music, dancing, and good food. The day promotes neighborhood restaurants and artists and craftspeople, both from Glen Park and well beyond.
