•  That said, our invite only casting calls begin in early April. Getting your submission in as soon as possible guarantees that you can be invited to the call that is geographically closest to you.

The Bazaar Fete – April 28 – Fairfax

On April 28 there will be a  new traveling, monthly event that will showcase the work of up and coming Artists, Musicians, Chefs, Bakers, Fashion Designers, Crafters, and Artisans. If you are interested in being a vendor at this community event please contact us! We are likening it a live and in person Etsy. Spaces are filling up! Each participant will be hand selected. Please send photos or a detailed description of what you do. (Especially in need of more Fashion Designers (accessories too! Maybe a fashion show?), Artisans, Crafters, Henna Artists, Children’s Entertainers, and a Tattoo Artist). The first event will take place in Fairfax and will go to different Bay Area Locations each month.

4TH OF JULY @ Berkeley Marina

February 20th, 2012

The 4th of July is a great day to have a lot of fun. The biggest party is at the Berkeley Marina from noon-10PM. There’s all kinds of free fun! Adventure Playground, always a favorite, is open 11am-8pm. Get your face painted, try the giant slide, or splash in the water at the beach!

There’s live entertainment from noon until 9:30PM on the main stage including Downtown Rhythm, Lee Waterman & Jazz Caliente, The Hipwader’s Children’s Music, Tin Sandwich Harmonica Trio, The Ian Franklin Band, Foxtails Brigaide, & Steel Pans. Tucked around the marina are Afro Cuban Rumba Drumming, Circus Art performers, and on The Buddy Club Stage in Shorebird Park you’ll find jugglers and magicians. There’s art & crafts, yummy food, massages, free dragon boat rowing from 2-6pm, pony rides, a dunk tank, and much more including the grand fireworks off the end of the Berkeley Pier at 9:30pm.

Cole Valley Fair – September 23, 2012‏ – San Francisco

The Cole Valley Improvement Association (CVIA) is pleased to announce that the Cole Valley Fair will be back again for its TENTH year on Sunday, September 23, 2012.

The Cole Valley Fair continues to be a charming and well-attended event sponsored by merchants and organizations with outstanding records of community support. The fair features local art and fine crafts, lip-smacking food, live music, a display of historical Cole Valley photographs, a full block of vintage automobiles owned by neighborhood residents, events for children, and more!

If you’re an artist with unique handcrafted work or a food vendor with tasty morsels, we hope you’ll apply for a booth space. The deadline is July 1. Priority will be given to Cole Valley residents, returning vendors, and promising new applicants. (Imported merchandise will not be considered).  We will be accepting some applicants before the deadline date.

Chocolate & Chalk Art Festival – Saturday, June 2, 2012, 10am-5pm – Berkeley

The sidewalks along North Shattuck Ave. in the Gourmet Ghetto in Berkeley are the target of artists young and old, professional and greenhorn during the 16th annual CHOCOLATE & CHALK ART FESTIVALon Saturday, June 2.

With no fees to artists, areas of sidewalk will be assigned to participants to create their own fanciful chalk drawings. A CHALK ART CONTEST for the best drawing will be judged after 4 p.m. Winners will be notified the following day. Same-day registration takes place 10AM-5PM in event booths located along North Shattuck Ave. Artist’s chalk is available for a fee.

For CHOCOLATE SAMPLING start by purchasing a packet of tickets (10 for $10) at any of the registration sites. The to-go menu features organic raw dark chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache cupcakes, Nutella crepes, adult brownies or savory chocolate ricotta pizza, Caribbean chocolate soup, or the weirder chocolate foot massage! Spend your tickets on these delights in the businesses in the district.

Vendors with chocolate-related items and hand made arts & crafts fill the Farmer’s Market area, music fills the air, clown’s laughter fills your heart, and many more surprises fill your senses as you stroll along the sidewalks viewing the artwork that remains in place for the next two weeks. See last year’s chalk art contest winners. This is a family-friendly, non-alcoholic event.

Vagabond Indie Craft Fair: Spring Edition 2012 – May 5th & 6th, noon until 7pm – Sunset

The Vagabond Indie Craft Fair: Spring Edition 2012 will be held at Urban Bazaar on Saturday & Sunday, May 5th & 6th, from noon-7pm. We are accepting most vendors for ONE DAY ONLY of the 2 day event (see below). Applications are being accepted now through March 25th; applicants will be contacted by April 5th to let them know if they’ve been accepted. IMPORTANT EVENT INFO: This Vagabond will be the 5th Craft Fair held at Urban Bazaar since 2010. Urban Bazaar is located at 1371 9th Ave, San Francisco, in the Inner Sunset District. The event will be held in our backyard garden, and will be held rain-or-shine. Vendor fees are non-refundable. Vendor spaces fit a standard 6′ table, with enough room behind the table for you to stand or sit; vendors are responsible for providing their own tables & chairs. If you have an alternative (non-table) display, please fill in the appropriate section on this application so we can place you in the best spot. Regardless of your display, you will still only have a 6′ wide space, approximately 4.5-5′ deep.

We are accepting applications for ONE or BOTH days of the craft fair. We’d like to have a diverse selection of artists represented, so not everyone who applies for both days will be accepted for both. You’ll be able to choose which day(s) you are applying for.

TABLE SHARING: Table sharing is acceptable; however, we cannot pair you up with another vendor. If you’re applying to share a table with another vendor, you need to fill out this application with information in each field for BOTH of your businesses. This includes types of merchandise sold by each vendor, a website for each vendors and/or photos emailed to us for each vendor. There is no additional charge to share a table. You cannot add a second vendor to your table after you’ve applied, so only fill this out once you know for sure who you’re applying with.

VENDOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Vagabond is truly a community event. We value the input and participation from all the craftspeople who are a part of it! Therefore, we hold each applicant who is accepted responsible for helping us promote this event to the public. By applying, you are agreeing to: 1. Post about Vagabond to your social media sites and blogs in the 3 weeks leading up to the event 2. Hand out postcards for Vagabond (which we will get printed and distributed to you) leading up to the event, especially if you live in SF or Berkeley/Oakland 3. Spread the word to your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. 4. Let us know if you have media connections or other ideas about how we can promote the event

VENDOR FEES: There is a $3 application fee, payable to Brandi@UrbanBazaarSF.com via Paypal as soon as you complete the application. You are responsible for paying this fee

IMMEDIATELY AFTER you send in your application! If we don’t get it, we won’t consider your application. This can be accomplished by going to http://www.paypal.com and clicking “send money” and then the “friends & family” option. There is a $45/day table fee per day for accepted vendors. If you’ve been accepted to Vagabond, we will send you a Paypal Money Request along with your acceptance email, between March 25th and April 5th; you must pay your vendor fee within 4 days in order to keep your spot!
