Rancho Solano Holiday Boutique – Fairfield – Nov 21

July 25th, 2010

10th annual Rancho Solano Holiday Boutique
Sunday, November 21, 2010
10 am – 5 pm
Handcrafted items only. No commercial.

This boutique is held at The Clubhouse at Rancho Solano, a 7200 square foot banquet facility overlooking Rancho Solano Golf Course, Fairfield, CA. It is a beautiful spot and elegant display space for your hand-crafted items. Our 2010 boutique promises to be the best yet!

This is my third year coordinating the boutique. The level of artisans has made the show a huge success! Shoppers tell us they look forward to the boutique because of the range and quality of the items presented! The show has a good reputation among vendors too and I appreciate the referrals from boutique vendors who recommend the show to new artisans. The boutique has grown the past several years to over 70 quality vendors.

Advertising is key. We advertise broadly ….. Local print ads start in August with “Save the Date”. Ten thousand postcards are distributed, about half as an insert in the local newspaper a few days before the show. Everyone will get a packet of postcards to hand out at shows and give to their customers and friends. .

Word of mouth is an important too……and technology is the new word of mouth! You can let people know about the boutique via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, etc (however you keep in touch with your customers, potential customers and friends) . I’ll create a reminder/invitation you can personalize and send out a few weeks before the boutique. The boutique is also listed on many “Events” listings online, Craigslist, and numerous print Community Calendars, etc.

The Sunday before Thanksgiving has been “THE” boutique day so shoppers are looking for us then . We put up 100 “yard signs” to lead shoppers to us. We are hard to miss!

Cost for an 8 foot table or 5 foot round table is $110 postmarked before September 1st or $125 postmarked after September 1st. White tablecloths are provided and you can decorate your table any way you choose. Limited electricity is available. The show sold out the past two years.

Please e-mail or call to tell me about your hand-crafted items and send photos or web site. Unfortunately I have to limit applications for jewelry as it is by far the most popular category.

If you are not available for the Rancho Solano Holiday Boutique but would like to be considerred for other shows, please contact me to be put on my data base of artisans.

BDW's Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair – Dec 11 – Brisbane

Where:  Mission Blue Community Center, 475 Mission Blue Drive, Brisbane.

Date:  12/11/10, 11AM – 6PM

Entry Fee:  $75.00

This show is being put on by Brisbane Dance Workshop (BDW) as a fundraiser.  The show in Brisbane is new this year, so doesn’t have a track record.  BDW does, however, and all of their events are very well supported in the community, so I know it will do well.  We will also be doing a lot of advertising to pull in folks from outside the community.  This is BDW’s website:  http://www.brisbanedance.com/.  We are also looking for DIY/tutorial booths for this event, so if there are any craft supply vendors who would like to put on a needle felting, jewelry making, etc. DIY booth, please apply.  This show will also have roving carollers from the voice classes and we are brainstorming ideas to work in performances from the theater and dance classes.  We really want to make this a fun holiday family event and plan to continue this annually.  So, it’s a great show to get in on the ground floor.
Contact Theresa Jimenez at theresa_jimenez@sbcglobal.net for show information and application.

This show has been going on annually at this location for more than 25 years.  A couple of the original participants are still participating.  We have an extensive mailing list and are always well attended by a large population of loyal customers.  This is a juried event, and is also somewhat of a cooperative event, meaning it takes participation before and during the show to pull this off, which keeps the enrollment fee very low.  With high participation, the % of sales fee is very low.  If you do not wish to participate, % of sales is higher.  We invite between 25-30 artists/crafters to join us each year to sell their items, including jewelry, pottery, photography, handmade dolls, needle craft items, clothing/accessories, quilts, baby items, home accessories, wood craft items, handmade soaps and skin care items, cards, etc.

Napa River Wine, Crafts & Jazz Festival – Sept 11

July 12th, 2010

The Napa River Wine, Crafts & Jazz Festival features 140 artists, showing their original handcrafted art and crafts.  This is a juried show – you see only the best of the best.

And you get to enjoy it all with a glass of wine, micro-brewed beer or other beverage, as you stroll the streets.  Round any corner and find musicians performing to entertain you while you walk. Hungry?  A dozen food vendors will take care of that.

Children will enjoy hands-on interactive arts and crafts.  Getting as much or little help as they need, they can paint, make ceramics, while learning how it’s done.  Plus, your budding artist will have something to take home.

New Market – Call for Artists

July 8th, 2010

Hello creators!

We are kicking off a brand new market at Civic Center for local artists.
The estimated kick off date is Thursday, July 15, 2010 and will run for 16
weeks. We are looking for local artists who are interested in renting tent
space for these markets.   It is important that your work be handmade, by you, a local artist. This is to help local entrepreneurs as well as revitalize the arts community around the Civic Center.

The markets will run from 12pm-8pm. Tents run $25 and all vendors need to hold vendor permits as we are working with the Mayor’s office of Economic Development on this endeavor.
http://www.oewd.org/CDLF.aspx

Tents are provided, already set up. However, you would need to provide
your own table and chair.

Thank you,
~Jessica Brown
