h Annual Temescal Street Fair – July 8th – Oakland

March 28th, 2012

What started in 2004 as a little street fest sponsored by a small group of local merchants has blossomed into one of Oakland’s premier cultural events. In 2005, the Telegraph Temescal Business Improvement District (TTBID) took over the fair’s sponsorship and, since then, the event’s growth has been exponential. This year, there will be four stages (the Main stage, Kid’s stage and two Jazz stages) and three additional blocks of vendors, offering even more chances to promote local artists, craftspeople and creative dare-to-doers, representing the area’s rich tapestry of creativity and culture.

Come celebrate Asian Pacific American heritage on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in the Civic Center/Little Saigon District of San Francisco

March 23rd, 2012

Being a vendor at the Asian Heritage Street Celebration will give you an opportunity to showcase your products and services, drive business to your store and/or website, or offer special fair items to reduce your inventory – all while supporting the Asian American community. We heard your suggestions and this year we’re investing in major initiatives to make our event a Shopper’s Destination. This includes special advertising in the SF CHRONICLE and SF EXAMINER. We will bring more shoppers and buyers than any other year to buy your quality goods. See all our Shoppers Only Promotions Here. Last year’s event attracted more than 100,000 people and this year we plan to return to the Civic Center / Little Saigon area!  We will be in front of the Asian Art Museum, a dynamic area in an evolving neighborhood. The area is centrally located and convenient via both MUNI and BART – and the freeway. For your convenience, above are quick links to the booth application along with Fire Department and Health Department required forms, the Asian Heritage Street Celebration website, and last year’s website as well.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Thanks so much and looking forward to hearing from you!

Blue Sky Festival – Free to Exhibit

March 22nd, 2012

Hello,

Last year, BART’s first ever environmental event, the BART Blue Sky Festival, was held at Justin Herman Plaza on April 21. The lunch time event, which attracted more than 4,000 people, celebrated the green attitude of the Bay Area which included private businesses that specialized in eco-friendly, recycled, upcycled or re-used products.

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, April 19, and BART is seeking a hand selected limited number of vendors in each category (beauty, clothing, accessories and art) to participate. The Blue Sky Festival is open to the public and is a great opportunity for you to get the word out about your product. And best of all, it’s FREE ! There is no charge to participate and we will not take any percentage of your sales.   Reply to this email with interest and feel free to send referrals for fellow vendors, if they are a good fit.   BART will also implement an extensive mixed-media marketing campaign to promote Blue Sky.

BART is justifiably proud of the Blue Sky Festival; the campaign captured the grand prize award in the 2011 American Public Transportation Association’s social media category.

Details:

Event:                 BART Blue Sky Festival

Event Date:        Thursday, April 19, 2012

Set up:                9 AM

Event begins:     11 AM

Noon:                The Venusians ( http://venusians.com/cdreleases.php ) will play their “other worldly” music (initial music will be up tempo, then dialed back to be more ambient so exhibitors can speak easily with visitors at their table)

Throughout:      Raffles, contest and other entertainment.

Event ends:       2 PM

We hope that you are as excited as we are to take part in the Blue Sky Festival and encourage you to  reply to sbuxton@bart.gov with interest in participating.

We’d love to have you join our premier environmental event!

Best Regards,

Bisha Buxton

Project Coordinator
