Bug Under Glass is a San Francisco based GREEN CERTIFIED business that specializes in hand-crafted eco-friendly insect displays, framed butterflies, butterfly wing jewelry and a unique style of natural history art.
What inspired you to go into the craft business, do you still have a day job? This sounds cliché, but nature. It is full of amazing colors, patterns and shapes that has influenced millions of artists including myself. I do this full-time.
I usually have too many ideas and too little time to make everything I think of – so I have a list of all my ideas and my wife is my “go to” on whether my next idea will fly. It goes something like this, “Honey, do you think a beetle walking a baby carriage will sell?”
What’s the best thing about what you do? And the worst? That I get to combine my love of insects, conservation, biology and craft into one. The worst thing is managing hundreds of tiny working parts.
