This day-long outdoor event attracts hundreds of attendees from all over the Bay Area and beyond. Using a three-ton construction steamroller and the street as an unlikely letterpress bed, a team of artists and printers print large-scale linoleum carved block prints. In addition to the steamroller printing centerpiece, there are artists, vendors, and organizations presenting an assortment of fine and affordable wares. Each year we invite book artists, printers, designers, and crafters from our community to sell their designs at these tables, and we would like to extend to you this opportunity. In 2010, Roadworks attracted more than 5,000 attendees.
The ROADWORKS: Steamroller Printing Street Fair will take place Saturday, September 24th, 2011 on Rhode Island Street, between 16th and 17th Streets. This year, we have fifty tables available. A discount is offered for early reservations.
