The 7th Annual North Berkeley Spice of Life Festival will be held on
Sunday, October 4th, 2009 from 10am to 6pm. This yearly community
celebration will again take place on Shattuck Ave. from Virginia to Rose
Sts. Culinary Stage with our own Kitchen on Fire cooking School’s Chef Mike C
showcasing the East Bay’s finest chefs, gourmet food product sales and
sampling, and tasty offerings from a range of North Berkeley
restaurants. Vine Street will be the site of the Vintage Berkeley Wine
Garden featuring sampling from over a dozen vintners and the North
Berkeley All-Organic Organic Farmers Market is held on the event day in its
usual Thursday location on Shattuck near Rose St. with additional
vendors. Local musicians will provide live entertainment at beer and
wine gardens at Virginia St., near the Farmers Market, and on Vine
Street. North Shattuck district businesses will host author appearances
and book signings, interactive art projects, and yoga and bodywork
demonstrations. There will be a variety of children’s activities and the
event will feature over 100 exhibitors displaying high quality arts &
crafts along with fair trade imports, along with local non-profits and
schools. The Spice of Life Festival provides an entertaining and
educational environment to showcase local businesses, artists,
restaurateurs, gourmet food producers, and community organizations. We
anticipate this year’s attendance to be at least 30,000 people, and the
event is being marketed via print, radio, television, and the web across
the Bay Area.
This year, we are excited to have a new producer for the event, TeamPro
Event, Inc., who produces the North Beach Festival, Mill Valley Fine
Arts Festival, and the Sunset Magazine Open House. Their website is

We invite you to participate in this great event! An application form is
attached for your review. The rate for artisan exhibitors is $300 for a
10′ by 10′ space. (This producer does allows sharing of booths by more
than one artist). Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any
questions, and do forward this email to any other organizations you feel
may be interested.
Thanks!

Hi:
Our non-profit organization is interested in exhibiting our youth art chairs at Spice of Life. As a non-profit we strongly prefer not to have to pay $300 since that is a lot of money for us. Do you have a special fee for non-profit artists?
Thanks.

Heather, we’d like the contact information (name and phone number) for the festival promotor. He asked us to participate, but never finalized the arrangement. We need to get in touch with him right away. Thanks, Bob Johnson (Redwing Bluegrass Band).
