Crafterino This Weekend!

Petaluma Downtown Craft Mart presents Holiday Crafterino benefiting COTS, November 28th, 2009.

November 19, 2010 (Petaluma, CA) — Petaluma Downtown Craft Mart presents their second annual holiday craft show, November 28th from 11am to 5pm at the historic Hotel Petaluma right in downtown Petaluma. Holiday Crafterino brings together the best in handmade crafts and gifts, featuring both traditional and edgy styles created by designers and artisans from Sonoma County and the Bay Area. Shop the malls on Black Friday but then come shop locally on Green Sunday!

Attendees will love this year’s expanded show. “We were completely overwhelmed by the large turnout last year”, commented event co-producer Nicole Vasbinder. “So we leased more space so that there will be tons of room for our customers to shop and hang out.” The handpicked artists and crafters will be selling everything from jewelry and bath products to clothing, art, ceramics and more. You’ll definitely be able to find something for everyone on your holiday gift list!

The first 50 attendees will receive a fabulous reusable gift bag hand silk-screened by local artist and event co-planner Jennifer Paisley, which stuffed with goodies from local artists and shops. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter the all day raffles for more incredible prizes and gifts generously donated by Chronicle Books and tons of local businesses like Copperfield’s Books and I Leoni. Everyone is welcome to stop by TAPS for a relaxing break and to taste their amazing variety of specialty craft beers and root beers. There will also be a bake sale table co-hosted by Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley and Valley Vista Elementary School. And we’ve even heard whisperings that Elfis and Chicken Claus might make an appearance!

In addition to an opportunity to show off local talent, the event is also a fundraiser for COTS – Committee on the Shelterless. COTS offers help and hope to the homeless person in Sonoma County by providing safe shelter and housing, helping people develop steady incomes and helping them get back under a roof of their own.  All profits and proceeds from this event go to COTS.  “We were thrilled to be able to give COTS almost $1300 last year and we sure hope we can give them more this year. Due to the current economy, more people than ever need a little help”, said Nicole Vasbinder.

The Petaluma Downtown Craft Mart is organized by five local crafty ladies: Nicole Vasbinder of StitchCraft, Melissa Abercrombie of Blue Ribbon Salvage, Elaine Elwick-Barr of Rock n Roll Crafts, Carrie Caudle of Moonpath Designs and Jennifer Paisley of Blockhead Press.
